As a curator and art event manager, Thomas has worked with various institutions, such as the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts Leipzig, Museum für Fotografie Berlin, Rotlich Festival Vienna, and Berlin Photo Week. As a team member of the Berlin-based photo festival AnalogueNOW!, Thomas has been a key figure in programs and events since 2020.
Thomas Ming-Hui Stanka is a German photography curator and art historian of mixed Chinese/German descent.
As a specialist for Grisebach’s Third Floor department, Thomas appraises and evaluates artworks, researches and catalogs objects for auctions. The department, which focuses on prints and graphic arts of classic modernism and German post-war art, has been a pillar of Grisebach’s repertoire since its founding in 1986.
With the founding of CYCLOPS in 2024, Thomas has created a platform to showcase handpicked photography projects as pop-up exhibitions in Berliner project spaces, studios, and galleries.
