As a curator and art event manager Thomas has been working with a variety of institutions and galleries, such as: GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts Leipzig, Museum für Fotografie Berlin, Rotlich Festival Vienna, Fotogalerie Friedrichshain, Analog Art Photography Leipzig, and Berlin Photo Week. As team member of Berlin based photo festival analogueNOW!, Thomas has been working on exhibitions, collaborations and events since 2020.
Thomas Ming-Hui Stanka is a German photography curator and art historian of mixed Chinese/German descent.
In his role as a specialist for Grisebach’s Third Floor department Thomas is appraising and evaluating art works as well as researching and cataloguing objects for auctions. With a focus on prints and graphic arts of classic modernism and german post war art, the department has been a pilar of Grisebach’s repertoire since it’s founding in 1986.
With the founding of CYCLOPS in 2024, Thomas has created a platform to showcase handpicked photography projects as pop-up exhibitions in Berliner project spaces, studios and galleries.
